From Aborted Delivery to Successful Go-live

Not all transformation programmes go well, we all know that. But what do we do about it? All too often companies keep pushing on, hoping things will improve. They keep putting more and more trust in the delivery partner who may be failing to deliver, or they do not address internal issues that are causing the problem.

In this second article about K2 Consulting Partners (K2CP) successful delivery, we focus on a client who was trying to implement an Infor M3 Cloud ERP solution.

The programme was overrunning in both cost and time, with several key deadlines for go-live missed. Our client, in the rental sector, were then referred to K2CP by another of our clients.

After a short but very focused programme review, we highlighted several critical aspects that needed improving, without apportioning blame to any party. Our priority was fixing the problems, as these were far more important than blaming any party at this stage.

With a revised plan, a K2CP Programme Manager, a K2CP Head of Testing, and working with some of the old team, the system successfully went live in January 2025. Although this was more than 12 months later than the client had hoped for with their implementation partner, it was achieved only 5 months after K2CP became involved.

Most importantly this is what our client had to say:

“I wish we had met K2CP 3 years ago when we started on our Infor M3 implementation journey. The originally planned go live date for the programme was aborted and at that point K2CP were recommended to us for their success in delivery. K2CP have become a trusted partner with GAP very quickly based on the quality of both their people and their focus on successful delivery. K2CP took over the Programme management, together with other key roles, working and driving our SI and the GAP team. We finally went live in January 2025 and without the K2CP team this would not have been possible. I cannot thank the entire K2CP team enough.” – COO GAP Group
